“BELIEVIN’ AGAIN” BASEBALL LEGENDS
GAME
 On
Saturday, September 8th, (raindate, September 9th) QSAC will be holding
its annual “Believin’ Again” Baseball Legends Game. This
event
features former Major League Baseball heroes playing a full game to
raise money for QSAC’s programs and services. The game will
be played
at KeySpan Park in Brooklyn, the home of the Brooklyn
Cyclones.
Tickets are $10 each, 3pm batting practice, game follows.
There will
be an autograph session for all, prior to the game, from 12:30pm-2pm.
The
Baseball Legends Game has seen such greats as ’69 Mets team members Bud
Harrelson, Art Shamsky, Jerry Grote, Ed Kranepool, and Ron Swoboda, as
well as baseball standouts like Lee Smith, Joe Pignatano, Tony Balsamo
and Ed Charles. Click here

Caffeine
is a central nervous system stimulant that causes the adrenal glands to
produce more cortisol -- a “stress” hormone that constricts blood
vessels and raises blood pressure.
Recommendation:
Limit coffee to a cup or two a day (or one or two soft drinks with
caffeine daily). However, many people find it difficult to cut back. It
may be easier in the long run just to give up caffeine altogether.

IMPORTANT FSA/Health Care Initiative REMINDER
To
access your Health/FSA monies, you need to submit a paper claim form
with full receipts to the smart flex card company (BAI). For those who
also use the card for transit expenses i.e. Metro cards, LIRR, etc. the
Smart Flex card will still work for transit expenses only. Claims
forms are available at qsac.com or by calling Susan at 973-661-2424.
Anita Smith Scholarship Applications
Every year, QSAC awards a $1000 grant to
a deserving college student in memory of Anita Smith, a former employee
of QSAC who dreamed of becoming a teacher of children with autism.
To
keep Anita’s dream alive, QSAC created the Anita Smith Memorial
Scholarship Fund. If you or someone you know is working with children
with autism and currently attending college, apply for the scholarship by
OCTOBER 31st
